About
SYNOPTES is RoInSpace’s space-grade precision timing and time-transfer device designed for applications requiring highly stable and accurate on-orbit clock synchronisation. The unit leverages multi-constellation GNSS signals to provide precise UTC time with nanosecond-level accuracy, serving as a GNSS-disciplined oscillator (GNSSO) for satellite payloads requiring time-coherent measurements. Applications include interferometric science missions requiring coherent signal timing across separated spacecraft, optical and SAR coherent imaging, signals intelligence (SIGINT) time-of-arrival geolocation, distributed sensor networks in orbit, and precision GPS occultation receivers. SYNOPTES is compatible with the CubeSat and small satellite form factors and provides a disciplined clock output via standard interfaces (LVDS, CMOS, SMA) with PPS (pulse-per-second) synchronisation. The device is developed by RoInSpace as part of their precision navigation and timing product portfolio, complementing the OrbFIX GNSS receiver for applications where time accuracy is the primary driver rather than position accuracy.
