About
NAVRAIL is a two-way MSS (Mobile Satellite Service) terminal for tracking of locomotives, designed to enable the Real Time Information System (RTIS) of Indian Railways. NAVRAIL has S-band modem and GPS modules, transmitting geo-location coordinates and other data to a remote HUB through ISRO’s GSAT satellite, enabling users to track the live location of locomotives via a dedicated app and website. It reports geo-location at pre-determined intervals, inter-operates with Saankhya’s hub-side equipment, supports configurable data rates and OTA software updates, and is based on Saankhya’s indigenous SDR chipset.
