About
The HYDRA is Sodern (Safran) current-generation flagship star tracker, available in modular multi-head configurations of 1-4 optical heads per electronic unit for redundancy and enhanced precision. Available variants include Hydra Access (off-the-shelf), Hydra Baseline (modular), Hydra-M (microsatellite), and Hydra Custom. With over 245 units launched and 10 million operational hours, HYDRA provides 2.8 arcsecond cross-boresight precision, 26-degree sun exclusion, and 8 degree/second acquisition robustness. Operational lifetime is 10 years LEO / 18 years GEO.
