Sheldahl’s flexible printed circuits provide interconnect solutions that bend, fold, and can be configured to meet demanding design needs across aerospace, defense, automotive, medical, and industrial applications. Manufactured using roll-to-roll automated processing, the circuits help designers overcome the biggest packaging and thermal management challenges while reducing weight and assembly costs versus traditional rigid PCB approaches. Sheldahl offers single-sided, double-sided, and multi-layer circuit fabrication, including screen-thru-vias, copper foil and printed-silver flexible hybrid circuits, printed resistors and piezo resistors, and copper over-plating. Finishing and assembly capabilities include shielding film application, electrical testing, circuit blanking, and stiffener/foam integration. These flexible circuits are used to improve thermal management and aesthetics, and to reduce weight in compact electronic applications, including LED lighting displays and other high-density interconnect designs. With decades of flight heritage supplying materials for satellite and spacecraft programs, Sheldahl applies the same manufacturing discipline and quality systems used for its aerospace thermal control products to its flexible circuit lines, making them suitable for mission-critical, high-reliability electronic packaging in extreme environments.
