About
The Winged Test Rocket is SPACE WALKER’s first flight technology-demonstration vehicle, scheduled to launch in March 2026. It is designed to validate the core technologies underpinning the company’s future reusable spaceplane program: a fully autonomous guidance, navigation and control (GNC) system, a lightweight composite cryogenic propellant tank, and a liquefied-methane engine. The vehicle is 4.60 m long, 2.88 m wide (wingspan), with a fuselage width of 0.91 m, and an initial launch mass of about 1,000 kg. It burns liquefied methane with liquid oxygen (LOX) as propellant. Results from this test vehicle feed directly into the design of SPACE WALKER’s larger suborbital spaceplanes (FuJin/RaiJin and NagaTomo).
