About

SRT-2 is SpaceForest’s second-generation Suborbital Rapid Transport sounding rocket, developed independently in Gdynia, Poland, without major government grants. The vehicle uses SpaceForest’s Bursztyn (amber) hybrid rocket engine burning liquid N2O oxidizer with a solid HTPB fuel grain, reaching altitudes above 100 km and providing approximately 3–4 minutes of microgravity exposure for scientific and technology demonstration payloads.

SRT-2 is designed for repeatability and fast turnaround — key requirements for commercial sounding rocket services. The vehicle can be transported by road, requires no specialized launch infrastructure beyond a simple rail launcher, and can be prepared for flight in a day. This simplicity makes it accessible for university research groups, space agencies conducting technology demonstrations, and small commercial customers.

SpaceForest, founded in 2013 and based in Gdynia, Poland, has grown from sounding rockets toward orbital launch capability (the Perun orbital rocket project). SRT-2 has been tested at Polish test ranges and the company has collaborated with the Polish Space Agency (POLSA) and ESA’s Business Incubation Centre in Poland.
