About
The Stensat radio beacon is a compact FM transmitter specifically engineered for satellite applications. It supports the generation of AX.25 Unnumbered Information (UI) packets, offering data rates of 1200 bps using AFSK modulation and 9600 bps with FSK modulation. The 9600 bps FSK signal is designed to be compatible with G3RUH modulation standards. The transmitter features an adjustable RF output power, ranging from 0 to 3 watts, and operates efficiently from a single power supply providing 5 to 12 volts. Its data interface is a UART, supporting a speed of 38.4 Kbits/sec. The beacon has a compact form factor, measuring 1.75″ x 3.1″ x 1″, and is lightweight, with a mass of approximately 50 grams. This radio beacon has a flight heritage, having been successfully deployed on several CubeSats.
