About

The SGS-1 Global Network, operated by Taqnia Space company, is built for King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology. The primary satellite, SGS-1, provides a wide range of applications including Aero Connectivity, Maritime Connectivity, GSM backhaul, and secure Government networks. It covers the Middle East, Africa, and Europe. SGS-1 offers high throughput beams in Ka-band, located at an orbital position of 3° East, with a total capacity of 2.4 GHz. The network also leverages another Ka-band HTS satellite located at orbital position 39° East, featuring a very high EIRP of 60 dBW and 64 fixed beams, providing up to 30 GHz capacity. Additionally, national coverage is powered by satellite 5C, located at orbital position 20° East, which provides very high power (65 dBW) Ka-band services with a total capacity of 7 GHz.
