About

The TensorADCS series is an attitude determination and control system (ADCS) designed for nanosatellites up to 30 kg, available in configurations spanning 3U to 16U platforms. Each system incorporates one or more variable-speed, single-gimbal Control Moment Gyroscopes (CMGs) for attitude control and maneuvering, along with onboard attitude determination, automated operating modes, and user-configurable interfaces. Configurable systems are available to match specific mission requirements. In Basic mode (without CMG, using magnetorquer control), the system provides Sun Pointing (maintains solar array orientation for power generation), Detumbling (stabilizes rotation after deployment or anomalies), and Safe Mode (autonomous protection during spacecraft upsets). In Advanced mode (CMG-enabled), it provides Target Tracking (continuous pointing at ground targets during overflight), Fine Pointing (high-precision attitude hold for imaging or optical communications), and Local-Vertical-Local-Horizontal mode (Earth-referenced nadir orientation for ground coverage). The ADCS is available in integrated configurations, mounting within a tuna-can and occupying 0.25U while maximizing internal payload volume, or discrete configurations, allowing separate installation of the CMG, controller, and sensors within the satellite structure, occupying 0.75U total for flexible component positioning in non-standard layouts. Optional accessories include a GNSS Receiver and Star Tracker. Tensor Tech offers configurable ADCS solutions from CubeSats to SmallSats, letting customers select actuators, sensors, and control computers to match mission requirements, with integration services available; CMG configurations span 0.01 Nms to over 10 Nms angular momentum storage with modular, cross-compatible architecture. A listed component example is the CMG-10m-S (TensorCMG-10m-S), a Skew-Angle Integration Version with an external driving module, pre-configured with a fixed skew angle and a discrete, separately-mounted driving module for flexible integration.
