About
The “TERRA” space flight simulation complex is designed for conducting experiments with satellite models such as “OrbiCraft”. Together with a kit, it allows simulation of a satellite’s flight in Earth’s orbit. The complex contains: an Earth mock-up that provides Earth’s geometry and surface appearance, imitating the satellite’s ground track along an equatorial orbit, creating the same conditions and principles for taking pictures of the land surface and for connection with a “Ground control center” via command radio to receive telemetry; a Sun simulator that produces a beam similar to solar light under certain conditions; and a Magnetic field simulator, a closed square-like solenoid (current frame) that creates an adjustable magnetic flux through the vertical plane, acting as a simplified uniaxial Earth magnetic field simulator. The complex includes ground station simulators in both radio and optical bands for data reception. Released in 2017, it is recommended at a ratio of one complex per one educational site.
