Prusament PC Space Grade Black is a specialized polycarbonate filament with carbon additives, designed to be ESD-safe and exhibit ultra-low outgassing properties. It is specifically tuned for creating functional parts and ground support components, particularly those intended for use in space or vacuum applications. The filament meets ESA requirements for low outgassing, with TML, RML, and CVCM values within acceptable limits, making it suitable for protecting optics and precision sensors in vacuum setups. It offers high thermal performance, with an HDT of 137.6 °C, ensuring parts maintain their shape under heat and stress. The material boasts a tensile strength of 75 MPa and a tensile modulus of 3.7 GPa, supporting robust and functional components. Despite its advanced properties, it is designed for desktop-friendly printing, showing little to no warping, and can be safely printed on Prusa printers (Core One, MK4S, XL, Prusa Pro HT90) without an enclosure for parts up to 200×200 mm. Recommended printing conditions include a nozzle temperature of 290 ± 10 °C and a bed temperature of 120 ± 10 °C, with a hardened nozzle. The filament requires drying for 6 hours at 60 °C and should be kept in a drybox during printing. It is suitable for applications such as electronics housings, jigs, sensor covers, cable holders, and CubeSat prototypes.
