The HST-A1 Star Tracker is a fully autonomous, high-precision attitude sensor designed for satellite platforms requiring exceptional pointing accuracy. It uses a refractive optical design with a 5.5×5.5 degree effective field of view and can detect stars down to 10Mv sensitivity, enabling reliable star pattern recognition and attitude solutions in orbit. It delivers attitude accuracy of <0.3 arcsec (3-sigma) in pointing and <5 arcsec (3-sigma) in roll, updating at 10 Hz with slew-rate tolerance of 1.5 deg/s. It is rated for 50 Krad [Si] radiation resistance, operates from -10C to 30C, and withstands qualified/flight vibration loads (13g sine/12 grms random FM; 16g sine/18 grms random qualification). It communicates via RS422/CAN, runs on 28V while consuming 3.5W, and has a 7-year rated lifetime – suited for long-duration Earth observation and other precision-pointing missions.
