About

The Umbilical Mast (UM) serves as a critical component for connecting and disconnecting essential hydraulic, pneumatic, and electric lines to the 3rd Stage Module and Payload Assembly of a launch vehicle. Its primary purpose is to ensure the secure connection of these lines during pre-launch operations and their precise retraction during remote detaching, facilitating a clean separation. The UM is constructed as a robust metal structure, comprising a basement and a rotary frame. The rotary frame itself consists of two distinctively shaped frames. The basement houses the hydraulic and electric equipment responsible for lifting and lowering the frame. Various types of lines are routed along the rotary frame, and coupler catching mechanisms are strategically placed at the top of the frame to manage these connections. The product was released in 2008 and has a guaranteed service life of 10 years. While it does not currently have flight qualification, there is a possibility to adapt the product to meet specific customer requirements.
