About
The V-Series Software Modem from WORK Microwave is a fully DIFI-standard-compliant software modem. It seamlessly receives or transmits digitized RF signals from/to WORK Microwave’s Digital Converters DBDC & DBUC. This fully software-defined DVB-S2X demodulator runs on general-purpose hardware, offering a replacement for dedicated hardware demodulators. Based on existing implementations and partially new designs, it exploits hardware-specific elements to achieve bandwidths of 36 MHz and beyond, matching application-specific requirements. The V-series software modems are designed for both local and cloud deployment, running on CPU and/or GPU on consumer hardware platforms. They offer lossless transport for IP networks with QoS and sufficient bandwidth, and can be customized quickly due to their software-based nature. This product brings a modem-as-a-service model for multi-operational efficiency and allows for implementing new features and options (Multistream, multi-channel, high symbol rates) without hardware replacement.
