About

The VACCO ∆TEL Differential Pressure Indicator is designed to provide an indication or warning that a filter element is nearing the end of its service life. As the filter element loads with contaminant and flow remains consistent, the upstream pressure increases, creating a differential pressure across the element. Once a predetermined differential pressure is reached, the ∆TEL registers by extending a red button for visual indication. The VACCO design is also configurable to support remote signaling through an electrical interface. This indicator offers improved reliability, serviceability, and integrity by minimizing weight (low mass density). It is capable of reliable operation during high “G” load transients and can withstand shock levels exceeding 50G along the longitudinal axis. The design incorporates a pick-a-part configuration for easy disassembly/assembly without staking or crimping. The ∆TEL indicator meets or exceeds the applicable portions of MIL-F-8815. Indication is achieved by upstream pressure overcoming a spring-biased piston, which carries a pole magnet through a ring magnet, producing a toggle action for positive indication. The red indicator button remains actuated until manually reset. The ∆TEL design isolates the fluid area from the indicating portion via a machined barrier, eliminating potential leakage paths as there are no seals. It is also available with an optional thermal lockout feature to prevent indication during cold starts and an optional surge control to prevent indication during pressure transients. Standard material is Aluminum, with optional Corrosion Resistant Steel. Standard seals are Buna “N”, Viton, and EPR, with others available upon request.
