About
Yamal-401 is a large geostationary telecommunications satellite operated by Gazprom Space Systems, positioned at 90 degrees East longitude. Launched in December 2014, it was built by ISS Reshetnev (Russia). The satellite provides C-band and Ku-band capacity covering Russia, Central Asia, South-East Asia and the Middle East. With approximately 53 active transponders, it supports television broadcasting, broadband internet, corporate networks, and government communications across a wide swath of Eurasia. Yamal-401 is one of the flagship spacecraft in the Yamal satellite fleet and plays a central role in GSS’s satellite capacity offerings.
