In-orbit Construction of Large Structures
Orbital Matter designs and constructs continuous rigid structures in orbit at unprecedented scales, enabling forms, sizes, and capabilities impossible with Earth-built systems.
About this service
Orbital Matter offers the service of designing and constructing large-scale, continuous rigid structures directly in orbit. This capability allows for the creation of components like solar arrays, radiators, and antennas that are too large to be folded and launched conventionally. The company utilizes its Printer Assisted Deployment System (PADS) to build structural booms from 10m up to 100m+ in length, producing monolithic elements without joints or hinges. This service provides an alternative to traditional mechanical deployables, reducing complexity, risk, and cost for power-hungry satellite constellations, space data centers, and multi-module space stations.
