Vacuum Coatings

Surface Optics offers a diverse array of vacuum coating services utilizing techniques such as resistively heated thermal evaporation, electron beam evaporation, and ion beam-assisted deposition. Specific coating types include Vacuum Deposited Gold (VDG) certified by major aerospace corporations, Anti-Reflection (AR) coatings tailored for optical performance, and specialized Spaceflight & Thermal Control coatings for critical aerospace hardware. They also provide Vacuum Deposited Aluminum (VDA), Low Observable/Stealth coatings using spectrally tailored paints and PVD thin films, and large area coatings up to 2.5-3m in diameter or 60” wide in a Roll-to-Roll system. Other offerings include Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coatings for superior mechanical properties and custom High Reflectance coatings developed per customer requirements.
