COTS Solar Arrays for Satellites
DHV Technology offers commercial off-the-shelf solar array solutions for satellites, providing ready-to-market qualified products to reduce engineering costs and project timelines.
Description
DHV Technology's COTS Solar Arrays for Satellites are ready-to-market qualified solutions designed to help customers avoid engineering-related costs and reduce project timelines. These standard solutions come without Non-Recurring Engineering (NRE) costs, offering reduced costs and lead times. The solar arrays are qualified to TRL8 and TRL9, ensuring high readiness levels for space missions. They are available for both SmallSats and CubeSats, catering to a range of satellite sizes.
The COTS solar arrays for SmallSats feature CFRP (Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer) substrates with a honeycomb core, providing a robust and lightweight structure. They also include HDRM (Hold Down and Release Mechanism) integration and ATOX (Atomic Oxygen) protection, crucial for long-term performance in low Earth orbit. For CubeSats, the COTS solar arrays utilize Polyamide PCB substrates with a Kapton coverlay, offering a flexible and durable solution. Similar to the SmallSat versions, they also incorporate HDRM integration and ATOX protection. These features ensure the reliability and longevity of the solar arrays in the harsh space environment.
