Description
The Ibeos 50V, 1 kWhr battery is designed for missions requiring a radiation tolerant, highly mass-efficient, and reliable solution for energy storage. This battery leverages Ibeos’ heritage 14V battery design, incorporating circuitry to provide protections including over-charge, over-discharge, and over-current. The program for this battery represents one of the fastest turn programs in Ibeos’ past seven years, with the first flight unit delivered less than 6 months after contract signing. Ibeos’ components leverage their staff’s decades of experience designing full subsystems for satellites, from small science and experimental spacecraft to large commercial GEO commsats. The battery build and test lab includes brand new equipment for welding, cell and battery level testing, and full life-cycle testing capabilities.
