Deployable Space Structures (ISAT / Sensor Structures)
Large deployable space structures for advanced radar and sensor observation platforms — 300m electronically-steered array packing into a Delta IV fairing for DARPA ISAT.
Description
L.Garde designed and prototyped the structure for the DARPA ISAT space-based radar platform — a 300-meter-long electronically-steered array that packs into a Delta IV rocket fairing. This was followed by design and conceptualization work for the Integrated Sensor Structure program's internal radar structure, engineered for high positional accuracy. L.Garde also developed and tested an innovative deployable truss using concentrated strain hinges for stowage and deployment, offering a very high compaction ratio, intended for deploying large arrays from ESPA-class satellites.
