L.Garde solar sails use a unique stripe-net architecture for high system performance. The company has ground-deployed 83 sq m and 318 sq m solar sails in vacuum at NASA facilities using four independently controlled sub-Tg conically-deployed composite booms developed for the ISPSS program, and deployed a 300 sq m quadrant of the 1200 sq m Sunjammer solar sail — among the largest space structures ever deployed. Potential applications include debris removal, satellite de-orbiting, creating pseudo-Lagrange points, non-equatorial synchronous pole-sitter satellites, and deep-space propulsion.
