Chip Actuator CA0408
Compact 9mm-wide current-driven linear SMA microactuator for on-chip membrane valves and pumps — 8N passive force, 0.4mm stroke, no external pressure generation required.
Description
The Chip Actuator CA0408 is a compact linear actuator built from shape memory alloy foils, generating considerable force in a very compact footprint. Only 9 mm wide — compatible with standard multi-well plates — it features a passive force of 8 N and an M2 internal thread allowing a custom plunger or threaded rod to be mounted, with a 0.4 mm stroke, well suited for operating seat valves on microfluidic chips and cartridges. The broader Chip Actuator line offers strokes of up to 2 mm and peak forces of up to 8 N, requiring only a current-driven electrical interface with no external force or pressure generation.
