memetis GmbH develops and manufactures ultra-compact microvalves and highly integrated microfluidic systems. The valves are built on the company’s patented actuator technology based on shape-memory alloys (SMA), enabling a high degree of miniaturization and individual customization. This actuator approach allows the resulting fluidic solutions to achieve high packing density, low energy consumption, and innovative design, since the shape-memory-alloy actuators can be scaled down and integrated far more compactly than conventional solenoid or pneumatic valve actuators. Product lines shown include microvalve arrays, on-chip actuation systems, normally-closed microvalves, chip actuators, and pneumatic cartridge control systems. These characteristics make the products particularly suited to applications such as life science instrumentation, medical technology devices, and space/aerospace applications, where every millimeter of space and every milliwatt of power counts.
