Description
The Advanced Lightband (ALB) is Planetary Systems Corporation's next-generation, lightweight spacecraft separation system, used to separate space vehicles from launch vehicles and to separate elements of launch vehicles. It is offered in bolt-circle diameters from 8 to 24 inches and features integrated springs, switches, and connectors, with low shock and low tip-off rates (tunable to under 1 deg/sec) and tunable separation delta-V (under 1.0 in/sec). The ALB is backwards- and pyro-pulse compatible with the Motorized Lightband, integrates in under 30 minutes, and has never failed to separate on orbit across its flight history, backed by thousands of qualification separation tests.
