About
The Nexus-01 Edge-AI Onboard Computer is Akula Tech’s flight-proven on-orbit AI supercomputer, built around an NVIDIA Jetson TX2i module (256 CUDA cores, 1.3 TFLOPS). It processes hyperspectral data from Level 0 to Level 3 and runs multiple compressed, edge-optimised AI/ML models in parallel, delivering real-time actionable insights directly from orbit instead of relying on ground-based post-processing. The unit flew as the core payload computer of the Nexus-01 mission, a hosted payload aboard SpaceX’s Falcon 9 via Dhruva Space’s LEAP-1 program, paired with Esper Satellites’ OTR-2 hyperspectral imager (250+ spectral bands). The platform supports secure, update-ready operation with AES-256 encryption and rollback-capable software, and is designed to run any customer AI/ML model with quick deployment and minimal accuracy loss versus ground processing. Applications include bushfire detection, crop and vegetation health monitoring, defence and emergency response, and climate/environmental intelligence.
