About

BridgeComm designs and builds fixed and mobile Optical Ground Terminals (OGT) and Optical Ground Stations (OGS) that provide free-space laser (lasercom) communications links connecting seamlessly to space-based and airborne lasercom terminals. The company is integrating LaserComm capability with Space Situational Awareness / Space Domain Awareness (SSA/SDA) functions to enable fully integrated, remote-operated 24/7/365 real-time operations centers. Systems are built with US vendors and teammates to achieve communications speeds between 2.5 Gbps and 1 Tbps, are modem-agnostic, feature hot-swappable SSA benches, and use highly interoperable software. The technology supports Ground-to-Space and Air-to-Ground communications for government, space, and telecommunications applications. For government customers it offers unparalleled bandwidth and security for mission-critical operations, including an SDA Phase 2 contract and a US government program of record for multiple optical ground stations, with a Navy field demonstration. For space applications it supports space-based connectivity, including a spacecraft direct-to-earth (DTE) terminal launched to the ISS, additional terminals and modems for AFRL, and a DTE terminal delivered for an IC program. For telecommunications, BridgeComm demonstrated a first-of-its-kind 100 Gbps point-to-point laser link solution. The systems are positioned to deliver greater resilience (lower probability of detection/interception, high security meeting government and space requirements) and increased bandwidth (more than 10-100X greater bandwidth with less interference than conventional RF links), without the constraints of spectrum, speed, cost, or fiber deployment.
