About
Loop Heat Pipes provide long-distance yet fully passive heat transport with low thermal resistance even at extremely high heat flux. Heat conducts through a thermal interface material into the evaporator, where a wick structure saturated in liquid vaporizes under heat; vapor travels through internal structures down the vapor line to the condenser, condenses back to liquid, and returns via the liquid line to the evaporator, continuously. Compared to water-based cooling, Calyos states LHPs provide up to 100% less power (fully passive, no fans/pumps), up to 10x lifetime (no pumps/water/short-circuits, maintenance-free), and up to 30% less weight (fewer components).
