About

The CubeSat ADCS Testing Facility is designed for functional testing of the orientation and stabilization system (ADCS) of 3U CubeSats. Released in 2014, the facility is not flight-qualified hardware itself and cannot be adapted to customer requirements; estimated production/delivery time is 6 months. The test bench has dimensions of not less than 5000x3000x2500 mm and a mass of not less than 250 kg, and operates on 220 V power. It is paired with a control computer with a processor of 3 GHz, not less than 4 Gb RAM, not less than 1 Gb video card memory, not less than 500 Gb hard disk, and a display with definition not worse than 1920×1080. Balancing of the test platform is performed manually. The facility’s contents include: a 15 kg air bearing (1 pc.), a platform for installation of the CubeSat 3U satellite (1 pc.), a halogen sun simulator (1 pc.), a magnetic field simulator (1 pc.), an automatized working place/workstation (1 pc.), and an autonomous measurements system (1 pc.). Together these components allow simulation of orbital sun and magnetic field conditions and free rotational motion on the air bearing to functionally verify a CubeSat’s attitude determination and control system on the ground prior to flight.
