About
The GENUS DIGITAL 1000 is ETL’s revolutionary digitisation module designed for the GENUS 2U smart chassis, providing all the benefits of RF over IP transport within the satellite gateway or ground station. This modular and scalable unit offers RF-over-IP over 10 GbE, with each module providing 2 full duplex channels of 500MHz, and up to 8 channels of 500MHz within a single 2U GENUS Chassis. It is compatible with other GENUS modules, including Falcon frequency converters, StingRay RF over fibre, Alto amplifiers, switches, splitters, 10 MHz injection, and small RF matrices/routers, all within a single indoor or outdoor chassis. The GENUS DIGITAL 1000 bridges the gap between traditional RF and the near-future virtualised ground segment by digitising RF into IP streams, enabling elastic scaling, rapid waveform updates, resource pooling, and geographical flexibility. This future-proofs hardware investment and enhances secure operations.
