DIGITAL 1000 is ETL’s revolutionary digitisation module, bringing all the benefits of RF over IP transport out to the network edge. This technology bridges the gap between traditional RF technology and the evolving cloud virtualised ground segment. The DIGITAL 1000 is available in two main forms: the ODU (Outdoor Unit) and the IDU (Indoor Unit).
The DIGITAL 1000 – ODU is a ruggedised, compact form factor unit, optimised for field deployment and capable of operating across a variety of COTS compute platforms. It repackages the cutting-edge capability of RF-over-IP, previously demonstrated by ETL’s rack-mount GENUS DIGITAL 5000 unit, into a modular design suitable for tactical or mobile applications where the required infrastructure for larger units is rarely available.
The DIGITAL 1000 – IDU is an embeddable module designed for ultimate flexibility, ready for integration into OEM solutions. Able to fit into a 1U chassis, the DIGITAL 1000 IDU unlocks versatile RF digitisation capability wherever it is needed. By digitising RF into IP streams, operators unlock elastic scaling, rapid waveform updates, resource pooling, and geographical flexibility, enhancing secure operations and future-proofing hardware investment.
