About
The CubeSat Kit GEN1 is Hex-Star Universe’s flagship educational product, enabling students to build and program their own functional miniature satellite with hands-on experience in satellite design, sensor integration, and communication systems. The kit ships with 20+ sensors pre-configured and pre-loaded plug-and-play code, lowering the barrier for students new to space engineering.
A key feature is the AI-powered live web dashboard, which displays telemetry in real time including GPS position, altitude, barometric pressure, acceleration, orientation, and humidity from the satellite’s sensors. The kit also includes a ground station for receiving transmissions via 433 MHz RF, allowing students to simulate a full satellite communication link.
The CubeSat Kit GEN1 has been used in classrooms, hackathons, independent research projects, and CanSat-style competitions worldwide. Over 537 kits have been sold to customers in more than 30 countries. The kit is compatible with Hex-Star Universe’s camera and SD card add-on module for missions requiring onboard imaging.
