About
Launch Complex 0 (LC0) is Hokkaido Spaceport’s fully operational suborbital launch facility, located in Bisei, Taiki Town, Hokkaido. Since 2017 it has hosted dozens of launches, including seven MOMO sounding rocket flights by Interstellar Technologies Inc. — three of which reached space — as well as CAMUI hybrid rocket campaigns by Uematsu Electric Co., Ltd. and student rocket projects from Tokai University and other institutions.
LC0 also hosts an Engine Firing Test Facility used by Interstellar Technologies for development and qualification of their ZERO orbital vehicle engines, as well as testing by Innovative Space Carrier Inc. The launch complex provides a full-service launch environment with command and control infrastructure, safety exclusion zones, and direct access to open sea downrange corridors.
HOSPO supplies comprehensive propellants and consumables on-site including LNG (CH4), liquid oxygen (LOX), gaseous helium (GHe), liquid nitrogen (LN2), gaseous nitrogen (GN2), gaseous oxygen (GOX), water, and electrical power. Launch support services include regulatory consulting on Japan’s Space Activities Act and import/export compliance, meteorological data and forecasting, ground condition monitoring (temperature, humidity, wind), upper atmospheric analysis, and sea/air route coordination.
