Inovor Satellite Bus Platform

Lightweight, modular Australian-made satellite bus with ultra-low EMI, onboard AI capability, and full mission lifecycle support.

About

The Inovor satellite bus platform is a lightweight, modular small satellite bus designed and manufactured in Australia for civil, scientific, and defence missions. The platform’s fully vertically integrated architecture means all key subsystems — power, ADCS, onboard computer, communications, and payload interfaces — are designed and built in-house, enabling tight hardware-software co-design and rapid mission-specific customisation.

A hallmark of the Inovor bus is its exceptionally low electromagnetic interference (EMI) environment. Even under full spacecraft operation, the bus maintains EMI levels less than 5 dB above Earth’s thermal noise at key measurement frequencies. This makes it the platform of choice for sensitive scientific instruments such as radio science receivers, magnetometers, and optical payloads where local interference would compromise data quality.

The platform incorporates an advanced expressive-scripting onboard autonomy system capable of issuing pointing commands, querying real-time spacecraft state, adjusting orientation, capturing critical data, and tasking onboard payloads — all autonomously and reliably without ground contact. In partnership with the Australian Institute for Machine Learning (AIML), Inovor has further developed AI-powered object detection systems for Hyperion constellation operations in GEO and cislunar orbits.

Flight heritage includes the Buccaneer Main Mission, Kanyini SASat, SpIRIT, and SWIFT OPTUS-1 — a diverse set of Australian government and research missions that demonstrate bus adaptability across different orbit regimes and mission objectives.
