About
The ITU-5000M is an Integrated Thruster Unit intended for generating the necessary thrust forces during the formation of a spacecraft’s operating orbit and for subsequent station keeping within required limits throughout the spacecraft’s operational life in space. Released in 2008, it boasts a guaranteed service life of 15 years. The unit includes a high-precision Thruster Orientation Mechanism (TOM) and a propulsion system based on a Modified Stationary Plasma Thruster with a discharge power of up to 5 kW. Each propulsion system comprises a thruster and a Xenon Flow Controller (XFC) Unit, with pneumatic connections realized via stainless steel pipelines. Xenon is used as the propellant. The product offers adaptability to customer requirements. Key features include nominal ranges for station keeping in pitching motion and yaw, a nominal rotation speed, and high resolution capability. The motors-gear boxes have a qualification life of 10000 cycles in a full angular range, 90000 cycles in an angular range of ± 1°, and 26000 cycles in an angular range of ± 5°.
