Ka-band Terminals
Viasat's next-generation Ka-band SATCOM terminals provide critical communications for airborne operations, enabling high-speed connectivity from base to objective.
About
Viasat’s Ka-band SATCOM terminals operate on the full ITU Ka-band spectrum, increasing data rates to and from aircraft. Building on a strong history of Ku-band terminals, these next-generation Ka-band terminals are designed for flexible operation across military, commercial, and Viasat’s high-capacity Ka-band satellite constellations. They are mission-ready and provide key communications for critical missions such as real-time ISR with sensor and data streaming, search and rescue (SAR) missions, anti-piracy and maritime interdiction, and enroute command and control (C2) and VIP transport communications. The terminals comprise a small Ka-band antenna, a next-generation modem, and an antenna control unit integrated into the aircraft’s existing network, ensuring assured access to critical communications and transforming broadband connectivity with unprecedented capacity and coverage.
