About
Kayser Space develops a broad range of life science equipment designed for human spaceflight and biological research in microgravity. These systems address the need to monitor astronaut health, study physiological responses to the space environment, and conduct autonomous biological experiments on the International Space Station and other orbital platforms.
Key products include APHRODITE, a lab-on-chip biosensor for detecting stress hormones and biomarkers in astronaut saliva; IRIS, a wearable personal dosimeter for real-time radiation monitoring; PATTERNS, a wearable system measuring head and body movement frequencies; and HPA, a wearable device for studying hand utilisation in weightlessness. Environmental monitoring systems include MIDASS, a miniaturised airborne pathogen sampler, and BIOPACK for biological waste management.
For research applications, Kayser provides bio-analytical platforms such as BOREALIS (a CubeSat studying microgravity and radiation effects), ALCYONE (an on-chip micro-incubator for cell culture in space), BESIDES (a lab-on-chip platform for biomolecular signature detection), and MFM (a miniaturised fluorescence microscope for live cell imaging). All systems are designed and qualified for the demanding conditions of orbital spaceflight.
