About
The Kayser Space Lighting Vision System is a space-qualified illumination solution designed to enable vision in the harshest orbital environments. It addresses the challenge of extreme lighting contrasts, deep shadows, and the complete absence of atmosphere in space, providing autonomous illumination units for in-orbit servicing, robotic operations, and inspection activities.
The system uses compact autonomous illumination units that can operate independently or in coordinated configurations. The design features radiation-tolerant electronics and engineered optical performance optimised for space conditions, supporting robotic servicing, critical interface inspection, docking operations, and low-light imaging.
Key performance characteristics include operation across extreme temperature ranges, function in high-radiation environments, low power consumption, and lightweight construction suitable for diverse spacecraft platforms. The system has been developed to space mission standards and validated through structured qualification processes.
