Kayser’s Lighting Vision System is engineered to enable clear visual feedback in space, where extreme lighting contrasts, deep shadows, and the absence of atmosphere pose significant challenges. This system is crucial for in-orbit servicing, robotic operations, and inspection activities, ensuring stable and reliable illumination for mission-critical scenarios, from close-range inspection to autonomous space operations. Originally developed for in-orbit servicing, the system comprises autonomous illumination units that can function independently or as part of a coordinated configuration. Each unit integrates a compact mechanical design, radiation-tolerant electronics, and precisely engineered optical performance. This results in a lightweight yet robust illumination solution capable of operating effectively in extreme temperature ranges and high-radiation environments. The system’s architecture supports robotic servicing, critical interface inspection, and docking & low-light imaging. Built for reliability, the Lighting Vision System incorporates radiation resistance, thermal stability, and mechanical robustness from its earliest design phases. It has been developed in accordance with space mission standards and validated through structured review and qualification processes.
