About

The Kinetic Moment Reset System is designed to calm low-orbit spacecraft and dump accumulated kinetic moment from the spacecraft body and flywheel engines. It uses geomagnetic field sensing and magnetic torquing via six 1-metre electromagnets (forming three axis rod electromagnets) providing 1000 Am² working magnetic moment per electromagnet. The system includes two primary converters of the geomagnetic field (PGP-3M, PGP-3MD as duplicate), and an electronic block. Flight-qualified as part of the Resurs-DK spacecraft. Released in 2005, 10-year service life, 14-month delivery time. Adaptable to customer requirements.
