Launch Pad Count Down Test System (SDSC-SHAR)

The Second Launch Pad Count Down system was implemented by Data Patterns using VXI hardware specifically designed for launch pad automation requirements at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC-SHAR), featuring a redundant system architecture handling up to 14,000 I/O points. The ATE monitors multiple aspects of the launch vehicle during the countdown phase and assists in automating the launch process. It consists of precision analog input signal conditioners and digitizers plus discrete and relay logic, including a specialized programmable analog comparator module used for fail-safe automation and safety monitoring independent of software. This system has been in reliable operation since 2001 and has supported numerous PSLV and GSLV launches from the Launch Pad against strong competitive bids for the program.
