The Living Hinge Boom (LHB) is a deployable boom from Opterus’s hinges, booms and boom-deployer product line, using a flexible high-strain composite “living hinge” in place of traditional mechanical hinge hardware. The design simplifies deployment mechanisms, reduces part count and potential failure points, and is suited to small satellite and CubeSat missions needing a compact, low-mass deployable structure for antennas, sensors or solar panels.
