About
ALEXIUS is MIPRONS’ flagship compact water-electrolysis propulsion system, engineered to fit within nanosatellites while delivering thrust performance sufficient for micro- and mini-satellites to execute rapid, mission-critical maneuvers. The system splits water into hydrogen and oxygen via electrolysis, then combusts the H2-O2 mixture to produce thrust — avoiding the toxicity, storage, and regulatory challenges of hydrazine and the complexity of high-pressure xenon systems used in electric propulsion. The design is protected by five international patents (Italy, Japan, India, Europe) and has received multiple innovation awards. MIPRONS has already attracted interest for hundreds of satellites globally, and the company targets Technology Readiness Level 7 for ALEXIUS by Q3 2025.
