About
The FlexArray Solar Array System is MMA Space’s standardized deployable solar array for the smallsat and constellation market, revealed at the 2025 Small Satellite Conference in Salt Lake City. FlexArray uses a proprietary thin-film membrane substrate paired with next-generation silicon solar cells in a cell-agnostic design, enabling low cost and fast lead times. The array has been raised to TRL 6 through ground qualification testing including thermal and vibration cycling, with all core FlexArray subsystems flight proven. It leverages MMA’s composite deployable element technology — the same family used in the dragNET de-orbit sail mechanism — to achieve reliable one-time deployment in orbit. Produced at MMA’s AS9100-certified facility in Broomfield, Colorado.
