About
MMA Space’s Dual Band Helical Antenna is a nested UHF membrane antenna providing coverage across two frequency bands simultaneously. Achieving TRL 8 with a flight mission scheduled, the antenna delivers a minimum gain of 10 dBic per band with an axial ratio below 3 dB and a beamwidth of at least 20 degrees, supporting up to 100 W of peak power handling. The compact stowed volume of 50 in³ expands to 400 in³ deployed — an 8:1 compaction ratio — with a total mass including the deployment control unit of only 1.5 kg, making it well suited for smallsat TT&C and communications missions requiring dual-band coverage in a minimal package.
