About
This modified low-power stationary plasma thruster features a 50 mm diameter accelerating channel and is specifically designed for spacecraft station keeping. It utilizes xenon as a propellant and consists of anode and cathode units. The thruster employs a classical magnetic system with magnetic screens and three external magnetic coils. The outside diameter of the accelerating channel is 50 mm, with a mean diameter of 40.5 mm. It incorporates a low flow rate cathode and is constructed with new structural materials and components. The product was released in 2016 and has a guaranteed service life of 5000 hours and 6000 cycles. It is flight-qualified, having been used as part of OneWeb spacecraft. The manufacturer offers the possibility to adapt the product to customer requirements. Estimated production/delivery time is 10 months, not including material procurement (4 months) and parts/components procurement (6 months).
