About
This is a modified stationary plasma thruster with a discharge power of up to 5 kW, intended for spacecraft station keeping and orbit raising to Geostationary Earth Orbit (GEO). The thruster uses xenon as propellant and consists of anode and cathode units. It features a classical magnetic system with magnetic screens and eight external magnetic coils. The outside diameter of the accelerating channel is 140 mm, and the mean diameter is 120 mm. The product was released in 2007 and has a guaranteed service life of 20,000 hours and 7,000 cycles. It is flight qualified, having been used as part of SS/Loral’s S/C and Airbus Defense & Space S/C. The product can be adapted to customer requirements.
