About

The ODALISS PDCU (Power Distribution and Control Unit) is a highly efficient electric power unit specifically designed for seamless integration within ODALISS avionics systems. It incorporates redundant Solar Array Regulators (SAR) with Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) technology to optimize energy harvesting from solar panels. The unit also includes a redundant battery pack with full protection stages, ensuring high reliability and efficient energy performance with a minimal hardware footprint. Key features include four solar array input power channels, modular Li-Ion battery packs, and a configurable power profile. It provides both unregulated and regulated buses, including a safety-regulated bus for critical power applications. The PDCU offers robust battery protections against overvoltage and undervoltage. It also includes built-in protections for overcurrent and short-circuit conditions. Housekeeping signals provide monitoring of main and redundant battery voltage, current, and temperature, as well as solar panel current generation. Control is managed via an I2C bus. For safety and operational control, it features one Remove Before Flight (RBF) switch with redundant circuitry and one kill/deployment switch per battery, also with redundant circuitry. The mechanical interface is compatible with ODALISS avionics buses and payloads.
