About
The NanoAvionics M8P is an 8U CubeSat nanosatellite bus available in three standard configurations: Light, Mid, and Max. These configurations are designed to accommodate different payload masses, mission objectives, and budget constraints. The 8U form factor offers a larger payload volume and higher duty cycles due to larger solar panels, with only a marginal cost increase compared to a standard 6U CubeSat bus. The Light configuration is suitable for base performance missions such as IoT communications or basic technology demonstrations in low Earth orbit. The Mid configuration enhances this by including a higher throughput data link system. The Max configuration further expands capabilities by integrating a star tracker, making it ideal for applications requiring high pointing accuracy, such as Earth observation. All standard configurations can be optionally equipped with a propulsion system for high total impulse maneuvers. These 8U CubeSats are designed for deployment using the top half of a 16U CubeSat dispenser, which is readily available from NanoAvionics’ partners.
