About
NanoAvionics GaAs (Triple junction GaInP/GaInAs/Ge epitaxial structure) solar arrays are constructed from high-performance triple junction space-grade solar cells. These solar cells are engineered to meet the demanding power requirements of various space missions. They boast an efficiency of up to 29.5% and incorporate an integrated by-pass diode. This diode serves a critical function by protecting the series-connected solar cell string from potential damage caused by shadowing effects or the failure of individual cells. The assembly process for these solar cells utilizes NASA-qualified low outgassing adhesive materials and is conducted within a clean room environment to ensure optimal performance and reliability in space. The solar panels can be configured with deployables, radiation-hardened connectors, surface-mounted wire cutters, integrated magnetometers, and attitude estimation sensors.
