About
NanoAvionics Electrical Power System 1.0 (EPS) manages power collection and distribution throughout the satellite with an integrated Battery Management System (BMS). All subsystem and payload power outputs are controlled via the EPS, and all output channels can be switched on and off autonomously by onboard software or by ground command. Generated energy is stored in onboard Lithium-Ion batteries, protected by integrated battery heaters, battery balancing, and overcurrent/under-voltage/over-voltage safety features.
The EPS 1.0 supports wide-range solar panel input voltages via four MPPT converters with 8 solar panel input channels, and provides up to 175 W total output power across 18 output channels. An optional external battery pack expands capacity to up to 161 Wh.
The EPS 1.0 can be paired with additional NanoAvionics Accessory Boards to further expand capabilities, including the EPS High Voltage Expander (HVE). Starting price is €8,470 per unit.
